Foods That'll Keep Your Skin Clear!

These foods will add to your skin's health, and not just be okay for it. Keeping my skin healthy is my #1 beauty priority.

1) Anything Dark Green and Leafy
This includes Kale,  Collard Greens, Mustard Greens and Turnip Greens. If you can eat 50% of your caloric intake from these vegetables, you will notice a dramatic improvement in your skin.

2) Healthy Fats
Not potato chips or pizza. Avocado and Walnuts and Chia Seeds. These foods contain omega 3 fats which help to digest health foods (like kale).

3) Lots of Fresh Fruits
Not only are you adding lots of fiber to your diet along with tons of vitamins, you are also filling up your stomach so you won't be hungry for those high calorie, low nutritious foods! It's a double win!

4) Legumes
They're high in protein!

FOODS TO AVOID!

1) Dairy Products.
The consumption of dairy has been linked with hormonal imbalances, which can lead to acne.

2) Other Animal Products.
They also contain hormones which lead to acne, and even additional mood swings and pain during menstruation.

3) Sugary Foods.
Yes. Good looking skin sometimes requires sacrifices. Try to limit the sweeties to one serving a day. And if you can do that easily, try to limit them to one serving every other day, or as my family does it, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only.

Fun Fact.

Broccoli has more protein than Steak!!! 100 calories of Broccoli contains 10 grams of protein while 100 calories of Steak contains only 7 grams!

My Favorite Kale Salad Recipe!

Kale is one of the best foods for you. In fact, it is ranked 1000 (the highest)  on Dr. Furhman's Nutrient Per Calorie Density list. Eating greens should be a big part if not the majority of your diet. Below, is my favorite way to eat raw kale.  Enjoy!

Ingredients

1)     Take the head of kale (or bag, if you bought it that way) and remove all the stems. This will make the entire dish 100% easier to chew.

2)     Take a fresh lemon and squeeze it onto the leaves. The lemon takes the place of the vinegar that would be in the typical salad dressing. Add lemon according to your taste.

3)     Take 1-3 cloves of fresh garlic, and press them onto the salad. This also should be added according to your taste.

4)     Take a small amount of olive oil and add it to the salad. Optional.

5)     Sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheese or vegan cheese onto the top of the salad. Optional.

6)     Add some bread crumbs. They should be added according to your taste as well. But make sure not to go overboard! Optional.

7)     Add as many veggie toppings as you want to!

Let the salad sit for 10-15 minutes so the juices absorb into the kale, making it easier to chew.

Toss and Serve!

Instead of using the olive oil, you can sprinkle the salad with walnuts or chop in some avacado. That way you are still consuming fat, (which helps to digest hearty foods), but instead of concentrated fat, you are eating it in it's more natural stage.

Wet N' Wild Lipstick Review!

Hello Beautiful!

While I was at the grocery store, my sister and I decided to check out the makeup. We found some great deals on many different products! I picked up two Wet N' Wild lipsticks for 89¢ each. Yeah. Extremely inexpensive. But the question is.... Do they work?

Packaging:

Although the packaging looks inexpensive, it does it's job. It feel comfortable in your hand and is a nice color. The only real issue I have with the packaging is that the lipstick doesn't go completely under the opening, which can lead to smashing, nicking and possibly ruining the lipstick.

Packaging Grade: B+

Application:

Smooth, moisturizing, and glides on silkily. It has good pigmentation too. The color is also very true to the swatch located on the bottom of the tube. But it is very shimmery. So if you don't like shimmer, you could either powder on top of it, or slightly blot. The pigmentation lasts well over two hours.

Application Grade: A-

Price:
You can't beat 89¢

Price Grade: A

Total Grade: A-

This is a decent lipstick, even without the price taken into account. It would be good for those of you who are new to makeup, or maybe wanna test out a color against your skin tone. Or, if you'd like, you could make this your every day, go to lipstick!

Benefits of Water.

Water. At least half of your body weight is from it. Why is water good for you? Well, it flushes toxins out...naturally. It also will physically fill your stomach when you are hungry. (Disclaimer: don't drink water instead of a meal, drink water instead of snacking). Flushing out the toxins in your body will keep you healthy. Your skin will clear up, you will have less dry skin, your hair will stay moisturized, and ultimately, you will feel better. Physically and mentally.

Water-Like Substances?

Soda. Does. Not. Count. As. Water. Period. Although it contains much water in it, it is so full of sugar and chemicals, that the benefit of the water is canceled, and you are hurting your body.

Juice? Although 100% fruit juice isn't completely bad for you, it still shouldn't be counted as water. The concentrated fruit isn't as good for you as fresh fruit, or even blended fresh fruit.

Coffee? No. Just. No. Coffee isn't water.

Tea? As long as your tea is unsweetened, and decaffeinated, it can count as your daily water intake.

Drinking two glasses per meal would be great! But I can't do that. I mean I could, but I don't. So I drink between meals. It keeps me from snacking and also helps me keep up my daily water intake!

Skincare Tips!

This is skincare tips... not just for acne, but also redness, swelling, pimples and everything else.

1) Wash Your Face. I know it sounds dumb and/repetitive, but it works. So do it.

2) Limit Animal Products. Yes. Avoiding milk and cheese, beef and even bacon, will dramatically clear up your skin conditions.

3) Stay Active. By staying active your body can cleanse through sweat. Although it may sound disgusting, sweat is your body's way of detoxifying.

4) Apply Less Makeup. It will not help. The key to beautiful skin isn't the makeup, but what is underneath. By adding more makeup, your face can't breathe, and causes your pores to clog.

5) Get Your Beauty Sleep. If you are a teenager, 10 hours is recommended. For adults, up to 8 hours would be sufficient.

6) Keep A Clear Mind. Stress won't clear your skin. Peace of mind will.

7) Use An Exfoliator. ...Yeah.

8) Use A Moisturizer Before Bed. This will hydrate your skin, keeping it fresh and healthy.

9) Drink. Drink. Drink. Not alcohol, WATER.

and last but not least...

10) Stay Optimistic. By putting yourself down you will only make things worse. All you have to do is take care of your skin and body. If you call yourself "Ugly" because of your acne/redness, you will not only push away your friends and leave you unhappy and stressed, but also the negative energy you are enforcing will only make you breakout more.

Throughout my early teen years I had very mild acne. Now, I have none. The bolded tips really are the ones that helped me the most, while the others are what helped my friends.

Rimmel London's Lasting Finish Foundation Review.

Hello Lovlies!

Today I'm going to do a review on... you guessed it! Rimmel London's Lasting Finish Foundation!

Packaging:

This foundation comes in liquid form and is contained in a tube. Although the tube makes it easy to get the foundation out, it also seems to attract foundation. Example: My foundation tube is covered with foundation. The only reason I really needed to say that is because, well... I'm lazy. And sometimes I don't clean the packaging.

Also, when you get to the end of the foundation, some of the liquid will squirt out of the tube! It has happened to me multiple times, and it wastes the product.

Packaging Grade: C

Application:

This foundation is light weight and applies like a dream. It blends easily and has high coverage. It is amazing. I would highly recommend it.

Application Grade: A

Overview:

This product comes in many shades and has high coverage. It is perfect to double up as a concealer as well. Altogether, this is a great product.

Total Grade: B
